Vince

Foster carers

Vince has been a foster carer with the London Borough of Waltham Forest for three years. He says that one of the most rewarding aspects of being a foster care has been providing new experiences for his foster child.

“We got to take him on his first holiday, his first plane and the first time he went to a beach,” Vince says. “We have given him firsts for a lot of things and that has been truly gifted back to us, to see how far he has come from when he arrived to where we are now.

“It has been really good to see him grow and turn into the young man he is going to be.

“It is a lovely achievement to know we have given him a better quality of life.

Vince says that he has received a lot of support from fostering networks and previous foster carers.
